Preparation
Ingredients for Beetroot paste:
- Beetroots 2 small sized
- Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
- Green chili 1
Ingredients for Dough
- Wheat flour/aata 2 cups
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Carom seeds/ ajwain 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
- Fresh coriander without stems, 2 tbsp finely chopped
- Oil 1 tbsp
Preparation
- Wash the beetroots thoroughly and peel.
- Grate the beetroots, ginger paste and green chili using a manual or electric grater.
- Blend the beetroot mixture by adding a very little water.
- In a large bowl, wheat flour, cumin seeds, carom seeds, garam masala and oil. Mix well.
- Now add the beetroot paste, chopped coriander and start kneading.
- Knead the dough well adding water if required. Knead well until the dough is soft and smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Pinch a ball sized dough, roll and flatten it.
- Dust with some wheat flour.
- Roll it in a thin circle like chapati or paratha.
- Place on a hot tawa and cook on both sides. Apply oil on both sides while cooking.
- Enjoy with Peri Peri Chicken.
